Français : Suisse, canton du Valais, Massongex, Tarnaiae, vicus celtique, gallo-romain : Tarnaiae, anc. nom de Massongex, fut la principale localité du peuple celte des Nantuates, avant l’arrivée des Romains, qui y construisirent notamment des thermes. Des restes d’un pont y furent aussi découverts.
